Project Overview
Launched in 2020 with native support for English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic, Project Z grew into a vibrant hub for creative youth culture — reaching 800K MAU across Latin America, Brazil, Russian-speaking, and MENA markets within two years.
The platform combined 1-on-1 matching, voice-based group interaction, fandom communities, and gamified self-expression into a single social experience designed around how Gen Z actually connects.
What I Did
As Co-founder and Head of Product, Growth & User Operations, I led the overall product vision, experience design, and go-to-market strategy.
I worked cross-functionally with engineering, data, and marketing to align product innovation with community growth and user operations.
- Defined overall product strategy and user experience — covering 1-on-1 matching, multi-user interaction, AI integrations, and NFT-enabled communities.
- Built and managed 5-language operations teams (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic) across LATAM, Brazil, Russia, and MENA.
- Led community-first growth strategy — achieving 180K DAU with 50%+ day-2 retention through region-specific acquisition playbooks and creator partnerships.
Business Value
In under two years, Project Z went from a blank page to 800K MAU across Latin America, Brazil, and Russian-speaking markets — proof that a lean, multilingual team can build a product that resonates across cultures without a massive ad budget.
The biggest gain was operational: I built and managed a cross-cultural growth and operations team from scratch — hiring across time zones, localizing not just UI text but community norms, and developing region-specific acquisition playbooks that kept day-2 retention above 50%.
The project wound down when the founding team pivoted to a new direction. What survived: a global creator community that still connects across platforms, and a personal toolkit for international product work that I carry into everything I build since.
